Infertility Frustrations: Why 'Trying' to Conceive is So Darn Hard?

Seems like getting a baby is so darn hard nowadays. Infertility means not being able to get pregnant after one year of trying (or six months if a woman is 35 or older). Women who can get pregnant but are unable to stay pregnant may also be infertile.

Do you know that according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), about 10 % of women (6.1 million) in the United States ages 15-44 have difficulty getting pregnant or staying pregnant?

Why is it so? Should we put all the blame to the female?

No, infertility is not always a woman's problem. Both women and men can have problems that cause infertility. About one-third of infertility cases are caused by women's problems. Another one third of fertility problems are due to the man. The other cases are caused by a mixture of male and female problems or by unknown problems.

Infertility in men is most often caused by:
  • A problem called varicocele (VAIR-ih-koh-seel). This happens when the veins on a man's testicle(s) are too large. This heats the testicles. The heat can affect the number or shape of the sperm.
  • Other factors that cause a man to make too few sperm or none at all.
  • Movement of the sperm. This may be caused by the shape of the sperm. Sometimes injuries or other damage to the reproductive system block the sperm.
Sometimes a man is born with the problems that affect his sperm. Other times problems start later in life due to illness or injury. For example, cystic fibrosis often causes infertility in men.

The most common causes of female infertility include problems with ovulation, damage to fallopian tubes or uterus, or problems with the cervix. age can contribute to infertility because as a woman ages, her fertility naturally tends to decrease.

The most common causes of female infertility include problems with ovulation, damage to fallopian tubes or uterus, or problems with the cervix. Age can contribute to infertility because as a woman ages, her fertility naturally tends to decrease.

Do you wish to increase the chance of fertility? If yes, the this is for you.

  1. Go for monthly or quarterly check-ups
  2. Keep your weight in check
  3. Sleep 8 hours a day
  4. Say no to smoke, drugs and alcohol
  5. Exercise
  6. Keep stress under control
  7. Eat healthy
  8. Eat a multivitamins
  9. Regular sex
  10. Detox

To eat healthy can be very challenging in the modern era. Erratic eating habits, insufficient chewing of food, eating on the run, and stress contribute to poor digestion, making it difficult for our bodies to extract all the nutrients it needs from food. Furthermore, many fruits and vegetables are genetically bred to improve visual appeal and crop yields, not nutritional value, which frequently results in lesser nutritional values than our ancestors' food supply.

That is why, it is also important to take your supplements if you are unable to eat a healthy diet everyday.

But how does supplements help to increase the chance of fertility?

It is always important to choose the right supplements. I would highly recommend supplements from Shaklee because of the following reasons:

Always SAFE - Over 80,000 tests each year
Always WORKS - $250 million in research
Always GREEN - Environmental leadership

(1) B-Complex

Shaklee B comp comes with folic acid and it is very good for those who are preparing to get pregnant. It can help to prevent stress and good for blood circulation too. Remember, if you are under stress, the chances of you to get pregnant can be very very slim. So, relax and take your B-complex.

(2) Omegaguard

Omegaguard can help to balance up the male hormone. Normally, there are higher Omega 6 in the male's body. Thus, the Omega 3 from Omegaguard actually helps to balance that hormone. Besides, Omega-3 acids have been shown to help fertility by:
Aiding in hormonal regulation
Increasing and promoting healthy cervical mucous production
Promoting regular ovulation
Decreasing inflammatory fertility issues such as endometriosis, uterine fibroids, ovarian cysts
Reducing painful menstruation known as dysmenorrhea
Improving the quality of the uterus by increasing the blood flow to the reproductive organs
Supporting proper sperm production. By increasing the intake of essential fatty acids through the consumption of fish or cod liver oil, the resulting sperm are healthier, have better motility, and the chances of a successful conception increase.

(3) Vitamin C

Vitamin C is very good for the reproductive system for both male and females.

Male:
Vitamin C has been shown to improve sperm quality and protect sperm from DNA damage; helping to reduce the chance of miscarriage and chromosomal defects. Vitamin C protects sperm from oxidative damage due to free radicals. Studies show that vitamin C deficiency has been linked to low sperm count, poor sperm motility and morphology. Vitamin C is necessary to not only ensure healthy sperm, but to support them in getting where they need to go.

Female:
Vitamin C Plays A Role In Ovulation And Egg Health. Researchers have shown that ascorbic acid plays an important role in the regulation of the menstrual cycle and ovarian function. Ascorbic acid excretion is increased and declines immediately prior to ovulation, and then immediately increases again just after temperature rises post-ovulation. Researchers speculate this reflects uptake of ascorbic acid in the preovulatory ovary, which then facilitates proper ovulation. These ascorbic acid levels are stimulatory to the hormones progesterone and oxytocin, and have been found in high concentrations in the corpus luteum.

(4) Ostematrix

Shaklee Ostematrix is specially formulated with a matrix of 7 critical nutrients including calcium, vitamin D, magnesium, zinc, copper, manganese and boron. One study shows that calcium is a vital ingredient in the process of triggering growth in embryos. The more calcium in the surrounding fluid, the better. The second study focused on what triggers sperm to abruptly convert their swimming style from a slow and steady swim of side to side motion, to a whip-cracking snap that thrusts them into the egg! What they found was that when the sperm arrived in the alkaline environment of the reproductive tract, it triggers the tails whip-like motion. Minerals (calcium being one of the most important) help to create an alkaline environment in the reproductive tract, the nutrient that sperm soaks up which creates the thrusting towards the egg, is calcium. Long study short, calcium is necessary for conception, a healthy reproductive system, healthy baby, and birth.

(5)  CoQ-Trol

Shaklee CoQ-Trol has proven to help to increase fertility rate by increasing sperm motility and quality. Among 228 infertile men, 114 men were given 200 mg of CoQ-Trol daily, while 114 men act as control. The result of sperm count and motility were encouraging as shown in the bar graph below.

A high level of Coenzyme Q10 found in CoQ-Trol in the mitochondria increases sperm movement!!

CoQ-Trol also acts as antioxidant to protect sperm from free radical damage and BOOST sperm count because it comes with Resveratrol!!

On top of that, CoQ-Trol helps to improve the quality of ovum and also increases the chance of pregnancy.

(6) ESP (Energized Soy Protein)

Protein is an essential part of any diet, and it is a very crucial diet especially for couples who wished to increase their fertility rate. Women need at least 46 grams of protein every day while preparing for conception and after pregnancy, while men need around 52 grams every day. One of the most important factors in having healthy fertility is keeping your blood sugar level. The easiest way to do this is to make sure you have some protein in every meal you are eating.
ESP can be a very good option because it has no sugar and it is not sweet at all. Shaklee uses Non-genetically modified (Non-GMO) soy protein produced under Identity Preservation Program (IPP). Each serving provides 14grams of Low Glycemic Index plant based protein. Soy protein helps reduce cholesterol. Has PDCAAS (Protein Digestibility Corrected Amino Acid Score) score of 1.0- the highest rating possible and equal to that given animal proteins.

ESP :
give you energy so that you won’t feel exhausted. Try to conceive couple cannot feel stress or too tired.
healthy fertility requires healthy body cells. Protein build healthy cells – good sperms and ovum.
helps to stabilized your body blood sugar

5 Tips to Look Beautiful & Be Youthful like a Korean Artist

Everyone wants to be beautiful and youthful like a Korean artist.

Do you think they can achieve this result by not doing anything?

There is no magic or tricks to achieve this. It's really about hard work, choices and persistence.

Let Mommy F share with you 5 simple tips to look beautiful and be youthful like Korean artist.

Most of the Korean artists are actually following these 5 basic tips to keep their skin young and healthy.

(1) Tip #1: Firm Up with Collagen
Collagen is found abundantly under your skin, giving it structure and maintaining elasticity. Without this building block for skin, your anti-ageing creams will become ineffective. An increase of collagen intake is highly recommended as it rejuvenates the skin from inside out, improving elasticity and reducing wrinkles and signs of ageing. Its production increases with addition of vitamin C as it helps to connect collagen under together, enhancing skin firmness and youthfulness.

I personally prefer Shaklee collagen powder because it has only 1000 Dalton molecular weight (the finest that I can find in the market) which makes it so easy to be absorb by human body. I can feel the difference after taking 3 sachets of Shaklee collagen Powder.

(2) Tip #2: Use the Right Skin Care
Build perfect skin with the right skin care. Look for products that contain natural, safe and proven ingredients to restore radiance and treat signs of ageing so you look youthful everyday. Beware of harmful chemicals and questionable ingredients that may cause redness, itchiness and inflammation. Practice a daily skin care routine as it is essential for optimal skin health.

I personally prefer Youth Skin Care Set because this product were introduced to the market after 8 years of research and development in US to ensure the beyond organic standards, and its effectiveness at the same time. The products are free from 2500 questionable ingredients. That is why Youth Skin Care Set is so natural and safe that even the most sensitive skin is suitable to use them.

(3) Tip #3: Supplement with Vitamin C
Vitamin C boosts the skin's ability to repair itself, resulting in reduced appearance of wrinkles, and soothes dry and rough skin. It also acts as an antioxidant, neutralizing damages caused by free radicals. It is also a necessary component in collagen synthesis where it helps support firm, supple, radiant and healthy skin.

I prefer Shaklee Sustained Release Vitamin C because it delivers 500 mg of Vitamin C over a period of five hours to improve utilization and reduce waste of vitamin C. This is equivalent to one-and-a half oranges every hour for five hours.

(4) Tip #4: Give Yourself A Facial Workout
Facial massages are hailed as non-invasive alternative to Botox and surgery. It helps to increase circulation to your facial tissues, resulting in healthy complexion with a beautiful glow. It also helps to stimulate collagen and elastic production for smoother, more supple skin besides lifting and firming the skin, reducing the appearance of puffiness and wrinkles.

(5) Tip # 5: Drink Plenty of Water
Drink at least 8 glasses of water daily as dehydration causes more skin issues apart from looking dry and feeling tight. When skin is dehydrated, it creates more oil to make up the missing water, causing breakouts, irritation and dry patches. So, drink up and moisturize your skin so it looks plumped up, filling in wrinkles and pores.

I am a breastfeeding mother. So I always ensure that I drink at least 3 liters of water a day to keep myself hydrated.
