Who Needs Protein? Are You One of Them?

Protein is undeniably important as it plays various roles in your body. From the formation of cells to development of your muscles, skin, hair and even nails, your body needs a constant supply of protein to maintain optimum bodily functions. However, your protein needs vary depending on your body and daily physical activity.

(1) Body Builders

Your muscles break down when you perform resistance training.

Consume more protein to:

• Rebuild and repair muscles.
• Build lean muscle for a stronger, faster and fitter you.

(2) Mommy-To-Be

What is good for the mother is also good for the baby.

Consume more protein to:

• Build baby’s healthy cell growth.
• Help in baby’s growth and development especially during the second and third trimesters where your baby undergo a rapid growing process.
• Help mothers to gain more muscle and less fat.

(3) Breastfeeding Mommy

A breastfeeding mom requires almost twice as much protein than a non-nursing mom.

Consume more protein to:

• Maintain mother’s health to produce quality breastmilk.
• Optimise your infant’s growth and development since protein is an important component of breastmilk.

4) Middle-Aged People

As you enter middle-age, your body undergoes a decline in performance including progressive muscle loss among other issues.

Consume more protein to:

• Slow down ageing by combining with exercise to maintain muscle mass and fitness.
• Lower risk of heart related issues such as high cholesterol.

TIP: Add 25g of soy protein into your diet daily as it has been found to lower your risk of high cholesterol level [1,2].

(5) Weight Watchers

A person with high metabolism rate burns more calories compared to a person with low metabolism rate.

Consume more protein to:

• Increase satiety so you feel full longer .
• Help control the amount of calories that you’re going to consume in your next meal.
• Maintain muscle mass as the more muscle you have, the higher metabolism rate you will have.

(6) Dessert Lovers

A diet high in sugar leads to a high blood glucose level which affects the heart functions and may cause inflammation in your body.

Consume more protein to:

• Stabilise blood glucose level.
• Help improve inflammation, cholesterol level and insulin sensitivity [3,4].

If you are one of these people, the simplest and easiest way for you to increase your protein intake is through dietary protein powders. Just mix it with your favourite drink or you can blend it with your favourite fruits as a healthier alternative breakfast.

ESP Protein is a very good source of protein. One serving provides:
  • 14g of protein
  • 8g of carbohydrates
  • 500mg of calcium

What's For My Breakfast?

Good Morning!
It's rainy and cold in Kuching.
I just done preparing breakfast for my kids and hubby and now they are off for work and school.
It feels so nice when I am home all alone. I get to enjoy my breakfast in peace and I can online with my pajamas on. Lolz. Seems like I am very comfortable with this kind of lifestyle dy.
At least I don have to rush for work early in the morning. The weather is so nice today that I feel like going back to bed in a while with blanket on. Huhu.
So, what's for my breakfast this morning? TADAH!!

Today, I decided to kick start my day with something nutritious from home. I feel so lazy to go out looking for breakfast and stuck in the jam together with those who are heading for work.

I found this in the kitchen cabinet this morning. My hubby bought it for me when he was on business trip to UK few months ago. It's Gluten Free Nutri-Brex. Perfect!! At least I have something to go with my ESP now.

So, my breakfast menu for today is:
ESP + Banana + Gluten Free Nutri-Brex 😋

It's always healthier and wiser to start your day with protein instead of carbs.
Not nasi lemak. Not kolo mee. Not fried noodle.
I always try my best to eat healthy everyday. If you want to feel energized and full for longer, you should make sure to eat a nutritious breakfast with a lot of protein like cereal with milk, eggs, cheese etc.
That's the reason why I choose ESP as my main source of healthy protein.
my milk booster

to keep me energized till lunch time

 my on the go breakfast

Unlike protein sources such as meat, eggs and dairy, ESP is low in fat and cholesterol free. 😍
ESP is a good source of protein which provides 14g of high quality soy protein per serving with all the amino acids, including the nine essential ones your body needs but cannot produce itself.

The protein from soybean is twice of meat, 4 times of egg, 12 times of milk, low in fat, no cholesterol and more easily absorbs by human body.

Wanna give ESP a try?

Suitable for busy working people too who can't really sit down to enjoy their breakfast. 🙊

My Breastfeeding Journey - 8 months old Baby Gio

I'm glad that I managed to breastfeed  Baby Gio exclusively for more than 8 months!

I'm giving myself a pat on my shoulder. Good job, Mommy F.

It's not an easy journey. I face a lot of challenges in the first few weeks during confinement.

The journey was really really painful and depressing.

Those who know me well, you know I'm not a person who give up easily.

I tried my best to look for my milk booster. I've tried everything (seriously everything) to boost up my supply but nothing works for me.

From black bean soup to papaya soup. Radish soup to red dates water.

Unfortunately, nothing works! Really feel like crying already that time.

I almost gave up but luckily I didn't.

EVERYTHING changed after I met ESP & Alfafa. My supply increase SIGNIFICANTLY
Now, I can't live without ESP and Alfafa dy.

They are my best combo for milk booster.

ESP is a great source of protein powder. Natural and non GMO.

Alfafa is known as father of all food. Traditionally known as a milk booster.

Seriously, this combo works like MAGIC to  me.

I'm a low supply mom. But ESP & Alfafa combo really gave me a shock!

Eversince I found Shaklee ESP & Alfafa, I managed to breastfeed Baby Gio exclusively! 😘
Being able to breastfeed our baby is the GREATEST gift a mother can give to her baby.

I know it's not easy. But please don't give up easily, ok?

Trust yourself. Trust your body.

Are you looking for milk booster?

Or are you facing difficulties in your breastfeeding journey?

Feel free to chit-chat with Mommy F!
